Princess Hour

Episode 1
In the 14th year of Inhwa dynasty when the Hyun emperor's illness gets worse than ever, the empress commands the Crown Prince, still in high-school, to marry the bride who has been arranged for him beforehand. However Prince Shin, proposes to his secret lover, Hyo-rin Min, an ambitious ballet student who takes his proposal as a joke and turns him down saying that her success as a ballerina is of her primary concern. Meanwhile, the family of Chae-kyung, an ordinary high school student , is in deep financial trouble for standing security for the wrong person, and is overwhelmed with joy when they receive the marriage proposal from the Royal family.

The last words of their dying grandfather wasnt a bluff after all! Prince Shin agrees to marry the all-too-ordinary prearranged bride provided the Chang-Duk Palace be granted independence and the lkWiSa be reduced.
However, Chae-kyung, who happened to witness Prince's Shin proposal to Hyo-rin, is outraged by the arranged marriage, and claims it is nullified. Right at that moment, the creditors march in to Chae-kyung's house and put red cards on all of the furniture.

Honestly, I like the younger prince, Lee Yul. He has such a charming smile and good mannerism compared to the crown prince, Lee Shin, who seems rather arrogant but as the drama slowly progresses, one begin to feel and fall for the crown prince.. hehe...

Princess hoursynopsis
episode 2

Chae-kyung, therefore has no choice but to marry the prince due to her family's financial crisis. Yul, the son of Prince Hyo-yul who died in an unfortunate car crash 14 years ago, hurries back to Korea under the urgent order of his mother- princess Hye-jung, eager to win back her husband's throne. In the airport, he runs into Hyo-rin, who has just returned from her contest but they don't recognize each other.
Yul has been studying fine art in England, and transfer to a high school for arts, where Shin and Chae-kyung are also students. Unlike Shin, who tries to be friends with Yul, his mother, the Empress, feels a shade of anxiety upon Yul's appearance.

Life in the palce is not as easy task from day one. A huge ceremony is held to welcome the new Crown Princess, and with the entire country as witness, Shin and Chae-kyung are wed in the traditional 21st centry Royal procedure. I must say that this drama is 1 of the 2 most favorite korean dramas for me personally.. the other drama is spring waltz, although I prefer this show becuz this show has more fun and comic moments compared to spring waltz... but on the other hand, spring waltz has fabulous sound track and the music just sweep u off your feet..

I saw the Goong DVD set sold in a store at Kinta City, for RM149.. possibly a 15% discount off the RRP... thinking very seriously about buying my own copy to keep... nice!!!! :D :D :D

One thing I find about korean dramas, they put a lot of emphasis on the background music, and hve fantastic soundtrack...

In Goong, its actually quite obvious how Shin's response towards CY had changed for the better... its only that she couldnt believe or even stopped to think that it could be love.. even CY's frens are able to notice the difference.... waht to do, she's a dumb girl... but so lovely at the same time.. thats why he loves her.. :lol:

It seems the actor that played Yul also sings... I watch abit of a clip of him singing... haha yeah lor, he looks like Daniel alot.....

I find Yul's smile very winning indeed... but then shin... aiyah, he somehow has alot of appeal.... superb acting too... Just unbelievable that this is his first acting role...

Candy, not entirely true.... the male leads in Spring waltz, summer scent and Hotellier are pretty quick to let the ladies know their intentions.... :D :D :D

I find that the koren dramas really deal with the love and romance factor very excellently indeed.... Next on the list is taiwanese dramas... Hongkong dramas (based on what I watch on TV..) very lemah ler...

Ya Jo, agree with u.......it's just like watching Hindustani movie.....no doubt dun understand a word, but still can sit in front of TV for hours watching them go round the trees, up and down the hill.....:D. The same goes for those Cantonese dramas which are dubbed in Mandarin.......aiyo, no kick at all watching them.....but if the Korean dramas are dubbed in Mandarin in Taiwan, then it's still ok but if dubbed in China........yeaks.....

OMG...OMG...OMG ....i can't wait for 21 feb to watch that drama again ...i get so exicted now .....my 2nd time to watch the drama again ....i think this drama is a mixture of it started with a kiss , full house & my girl ...so similiar to these 3 drama , got 2 guy 2 girl one ....! the song is so nice ....jsut can't get enough of this drama .... shi , yul & everything ....!!!!

I have this experience too..i watched DVD..u know i spend 6-7 hours to finnished 1 DVD..when started,i can't take my eyes off..those days i's really crazy,watch till 4-5 am.next day still hav to wake up on 7am and working..continue for two weeks..coz start watch at nite and not free evry nite.....including next drama after gong,sweet spy:indifferent0023: ..princess hours is very nice to watch:thumbup1: ..kinda fresh story among k-drama..i think Chae-Gyung is a bit like xiang qin (the main lead actress in it started with a kiss)..i prefer audio in korean..
it will remind me the sweetest part of gong,i like to watch the love between Chae-Gyung and Shin Goon!

On 24 November 2006, Eight Peaks (production company of Goong), confirms that the true sequel of Goong season 1 will probably happen in the future! According to Eight Peaks, the original Manwha is still on-going. In fact, they just published the 14th volume (rumor said that the author wanted to end it in volume 12 or something). The production company wants to film the sequel, not the spin-off like the Goong S. In fact, they have already begin the preparations necessary for the sequel since two months ago. And according to the company, the true sequel will air in late 2007 or early 2008.

According to Choi, Kae-yung (one of the executives at the company), “To be quite truthful, Group Eight, the company who is in charge of Goong S, have expressed a strong desire to participate in the production of the sequel of Goong season 1,” he said, “but when the replacement of Eight Peaks staffs took place, we have not heard of anything regarding Goong 2 from Group Eight at all. Since Group Eight is in a middle of producing their own individual drama (Goong S), we want to stick to our original plan and produce the true sequel of Goong season 1″He also added, “Eight Peaks owns all the right for Goong series. We also have been getting a lot of offer from foreign production companies for the chance to participate in producing the sequel.”

According to the company spokesperson, actors like Yoon Eun Hye and Kim Jeong Hoon will be back in the sequel as well. “Although we understand very well what the fans want, we first have to resolve this dispute with Group Eight properly. Only then we will carry out our plans for Goong 2”.

On 7 December 2006, Eight peaks have announced that they are official taking legal action against Group 8. They state that they have tried to work things out but Group 8 have ignored everything they said and so they have no choice but to take legal action.

i've watched twice for Princess hOurs. very recommended. Well, i always hate Korean series coz ever since winter sonata, man...the leads kept on cryin. and there's no funny parts. So i start to watch korean series becoz of full house. and then there's Goong. and definitely goong's the best lar. coz i think full house the ending kinda draggy.
i know everyone is in love with shin goon and shin chae gyung...haha! BUT i think i will go for Yul. he's so adorable. should have see when he cried! and i like min hyorin. of course not her attitude lah. but in person, i think she's not that bad. so i will say this is the best korean drama i ever watched. highly recommended.
